Baptists believe in the baptism of those who have made a personal decision to follow Jesus. So instead of infant baptism (christening) we have a dedication service of thanksgiving and blessing in which parents thank God for the birth of their child and entrust them to His care. The parents and Godparents make promises and friends, family and the congregation are also invited to express their support. The dedication is usually done as part of our Sunday morning service. You do not need to be a member of MBC, but we would encourage you to get to know us before having your child dedicated here. We hope and pray that when the children grow up they will decide to be baptised and declare for themselves their belief in and relationship with Jesus.
