At MBC we believe we need to support people beyond our immediate community. Below are some of the organisations that we support. Some of these groups we support financially, some through prayer and some through time.

BMS World Mission

BMS World Mission mobilises people, resources and skills across the Global Church to share the good news of Jesus and practical hope where they’re needed most. They work hand-in-hand with global organisations, mission workers and supporters to:
– share Christ and nurture disciples
– alleviate suffering and injustice 
– enable all God’s people to play their part in his mission

Home Mission

By giving to Home Mission, we support the Baptist Union, the support teams they provide to churches, as well as their grants which bring the love of God to communities all over the country. Find out more here.




Organisations We Have Links With

Operation Christmas Child

At MBC we have been involved with the shoebox appeal of Samaritan’s Purse for several years. We have provided shoeboxes full of toys and gifts (some made by church members) to give joy to some of the poorest children in the world at Christmas. One of our church members is the area coordinator for OCC. You can read more about the project here.

Melbourn Foodbank

Melbourn Foodbank do a wonderful job of supporting those in need of food in our community.

Melbourn Baptist Church is a drop-off point for the food donations which we then deliver to the Foodbank.

OM

Operation Mobilisation is passionate about telling people all over the world about the good news of Jesus. For many years we have been linked to a family who serve the Lord through OM. You can read more about OM on their website.

Christ’s Hope International

Christ’s Hope International seeks to empower ‘orphaned and vulnerable children to break the cycles of extreme poverty, AIDS, and spiritual brokenness through family-based care and discipleship in Jesus Christ’. We have a church member who is part of the UK board of Christ’s Hope

GenR8

Some of our church members volunteer with GenR8 and we support them in prayer as well as providing our building for them to rehearse their school assembly presentations.

Giving Hope To Turkey

Giving Hope to Turkey exists to pray for and provide grants to organisations that advance Christianity in Turkey and to help individuals in need. You can read more about them on their website.
